About the Property: The Scammon Ridge Headwaters Conservation Easement conserves working forestland on nearly 3,000 acres on Scammon Ridge and extensive shoreline on Prong Pond in Greenville. The easement lands also surround Little Mud Pond – which is accessible for fishing. In an area that has seen extensive development occur in the recent past, this project ensures that the ridge will stay undeveloped, protecting wildlife habitat, sequestering and storing carbon, and remain accessible to low-intensity outdoor recreation.
