Moose River

The frozen Moose River, winter 2015

Acres:  60
Year Conserved:  2013

About the Property:   In 2011 the town of Jackman approached FSM for assistance with an emerging conservation and economic development opportunity. The town is the owner of the local airport and in order to complete a planned expansion, was required to mitigate the expansion’s impacts by permanently protecting additional wetland and vernal pool resources in the airport’s vicinity. FSM worked with the town to identify nearby lands on the Moose River, which the town then acquired and placed under a conservation easement. The easement is held by FSM.
