About the Property: In December 2011, FSM and conservation-minded landowners completed the Haynes Brook Conservation Easement in Amherst, which permanently conserved forestlands and wetlands for their ecological values. The Haynes Brook parcel contains freshwater wetlands that provide crucial migratory wading bird and waterfowl habitat and is also part of a growing conservation corridor that stretches from the Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Milford through the Lower Penobscot and Amherst Mountains Community Forests.
