Boundary Headwaters

Acres:  22,000
Year Conserved:  2004

About the Property:  The Boundary Headwaters project comprises the entire watershed associated with the headwater ponds of the Kennebago River. These lands are part of a larger corridor of forestlands stretching into Canada that sustain a flow of valuable forest products and provide habitat for many species of fish, wildlife, and rare plants. Home to one of the state’s most important populations of native brook trout, the Kennebago River is valued by anglers and critical to Maine’s brook trout management program.
