Wood’s Role in Net Zero Carbon Buildings

Wood’s ability to mitigate climate change—both by capturing in forests and by storing embodied carbon in the form of durable, high-performance building products—sets it apart from other construction materials. To help the industry better tell wood’s carbon story, Think Wood recently developed Wood’s Role in Net-Zero Carbon Buildings, a concise storytelling deck filled with key facts and data on the building sector’s ongoing contributions to the climate crisis and wood’s role as a leading solution.

Think Wood is a communications campaign that provides commercial, multifamily and single-family home design and build resources to architects, developers, and contractors. Think Wood’s primary funder is the Softwood Lumber Board. SLB is a check-off program and was established to promote the benefits and uses of softwood lumber products in outdoor, residential and non-residential construction. Programs and initiatives supported by the SLB focus on increasing the demand for softwood lumber products in the United States.
