David Montague

Vice President of Resources and Operations

David joined FSM in May of 2023 to oversee human and financial resources and organizational governance. David previously spent nine years as the President/CEO of the Downeast Lakes Land Trust in Grand Lake Stream, Maine. He has worked in the outdoor recreation and conservation fields in Southern Appalachia, the Mountain West, the Eastern Caribbean, and Southern Africa. David earned his B.S. in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State and his M.S. in Wildlife Science from Virginia Tech. He has been a Registered Maine Guide for more than 20 years, and he is an outdoor safety instructor for the State of Maine. He lives on a farm in Downeast Maine with his wife, two kids, three dogs, a cat, and an assortment of livestock. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, woodworking, hunting, sailing, and exploring the outdoors in all seasons.
