In December 2003, FSM completed two easements in the town of Monson totaling 445 acres. These two nearly adjacent properties have been in the same family ownership since 1825 and 1864. Decades of professional, conservative management have left the forest well stocked, healthy, and productive. These large blocks of undeveloped and unfragmented forestland contain important native plant communities and wildlife habitats, including several streams, forested wetlands, and shoreline along Monson Pond.
