Kristen Hoffman, Forestland Steward

Kris was hired in Fall 2007 to help meet FSM’s growing land stewardship needs. She conducts the ground and aerial monitoring for many of the current easements and compiles baseline documentation for new projects. Kris has a diverse background in the field of natural resource conservation. She has a B.S. from Northland College in Biology and Psychology and an M.S. in Forest Management from the University of Maine. Her education in Wisconsin included various wildlife behavior projects, and here in Maine her research focused on land use history and its effects on forest stand development on Long Island in Blue Hill Bay. Kris was a coastal resource management volunteer for the Peace Corps in the Philippines, working on environmental education, coral reef conservation research, and monitoring of marine protected areas. She also worked with Acadia National Park and other land trusts in Maine.

Send Kris an email.
