Forestland Stewardship Manager
Jake joined the staff in Fall 2004 to enhance FSM’s land stewardship and conservation programs. He currently oversees numerous large-scale easements, working with landowners and partners to be sure that stewardship obligations are met each year. Jake also regularly reviews new project components to ensure easement terms and other aspects are crafted in a way so they can be monitored into the future. Jake has both B.S. and M.S. degrees in forestry from the University of Maine, where he formed a strong background in the use of geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing for forestry and conservation applications. He is a member of the executive committee for the Maine Division of the Society of American Foresters and has built relationships with many in the forestry community.
