Hike Bald Bluff Mountain, Amherst Mountains Community Forest
Travel east on Rt.9 from Brewer (about 15 miles). About four miles from the Clifton-Amherst town line, turn left on to the 22-00-0 road, across from a large snow plow turn-out.
Follow the 22-00-0 road for 5.9 miles to the Bald Bluff Mountain trailhead. Space for parking is limited.
The one mile hike to Bald Bluff Mountain overlook is fairly steep and the wooded trail is often wet. Views from the 1,001-foot summit include nearby Chick Hill and, on a clear day, spectacular views of the greater Bangor region and mountain peaks to the north and east.
