Hemlock Stream Forest:

In late 2007, G&D Properties, a Maine forest management company, donated 860 acres of forestland in Argyle to FSM. This property abuts the Penobscot Trust Lands and provides habitat for wildlife, numerous vernal pools, and important wetlands for waterfowl and wading birds. In addition to the ecologic and cultural values, these lands also offer a multitude of outdoor recreational opportunities such as hunting, fishing, and hiking. FSM hopes to manage the property in a sustainable manner for forest products and use the proceeds to support our work in conserving other, important forestlands in Maine. |
